This is a long-term project on the history and future of the downstream energy sector, with a focus on oil and biofuels refineries. Future work on this image will include plants, animals & the biodiversity of Southern California.
This work will incorporate visual inspirations from the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Noah’s Ark & biodiversity from Southern California and the Middle East (Jordan & Iraq). The project explores the transition from fossil fuels to renewable biofuels within the refinery sector, and what this means for the green transition.
